Pinggu Ambling and Hiking Trips

Pinggu is located to the far east of Beijing. The district is subdivided into 2 subdistricts of the city of Pinggu, 14 towns, and 2 townships. It has an area of 950 square kilometers and a population of about 400,000. It is famous for peach planting.

This district has many attractions and hiking trains : Ya Ji Shan, Jiangjunguan Great Wall, Jinhai Lake and Jingdong (Eastern Beijing) Stalactite Cavern and many more. Jinhai Lake is a large freshwater lake offering a cooling breeze for tourists.

Major Festivals in Pinggu

International Peach-blossom Festival (Apr.-May)
Pinggu is well known for the peach. From April to the early time of May, Pinggu is the sea of parch blossom. There are red, pink and white peach-blossom all over the mountains and plains.

Pinggu Apricot-picking Festival (Jul.)
Beizhai Village is line with mountains in three sides, which has been planting apricot for more than 100 years. Beizhai Apricot is beautiful in color, succulent and high added sugar. In 1955, Beizhai Apricot is listed as the Famous Chinese Apricot.

International Ice Festival (Dec.-next Feb.)
Yuyang Ski Resort will hold the Winter Olympic Experiencing Contest containing sprint, free-style ski match, CS in snow land, and so on.
