Important Things to Keep in Mind
If you are going to visit Beijing during your short layover, you are kindly reminded that you should give yourself a reasonable amount of time to exit the airport and go through customs, which usually take you more than an hour. You also figure out the enough time to return to the airport and go through security again. You still get back 2-3 hours prior to the departing flight. You will need a visa if you plan to leave the airport. Important Notice
The transit passengers from 45 countries with visas and plane tickets to a third country are allowed to transit through Beijing for a visa-free stay of up to 72 hours which will start on January 1, 2013.

Passengers can leave their luggage there for hours, or for days. Electric ciphony cases are provided for baggage left for hours, making easy the deposit of small-size articles.

RMB 20 per day for the luggage with its length, width and height less than 65 cm
RMB 30 per day for Baggage with its length, width and height between 200cm and 65cm
RMB 50 per day for Baggage with its length, width and height more than 200 cm
Various Ways into Beijing
Beijing Airport Express Train. Starting from Terminal 3, the train operates every time per 15 munites. It has two stops - Terminal 2 and Sanyuan Bridge before getting to the destination - Dongzhimen where you can change for Sunway Line No.02.Beijing Airport Taxi Service is easily available on the three terminals. Metered taxis are available on the first floor just outside the Arrivals area (travelling time to the city centre: 40 minutes); it is advisable that passengers have the destination written in Chinese or indicated on a map. It"s very often that you have to wait in line for quite some time to catch a taxi. There is no big difference between the various taxi companies in Beijing.
Beijing Airport Shuttle Bus Serviceis available on the terminal 2 & 3, departing from outside Arrivals and takes five routes into the city: Xidan, Gongzhufen, Zhongguancun, Fangzhuang and Beijing Railway Station.
