Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong Tour
Jiuzhaigou literally means "Nine Village Valley" in Chinese. Listed as World Cultural Heritage in 1992, Jiuzhaigou is well known for its beautiful water - multi-level waterfalls and colorful lakes. Jiuzhaigou is located in Jiuzhaigou County of the Aba Tibetan Qiang Autonomous Prefecture in Sichuan Province, 436km north of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province.Jiuzhaigou has three valleys naturally formed in a Y shape. The Rize Valley 18km long and Zechawa Valley 17km long flow from the south and meet at a confluence where they form the Shuzheng valley 15km long in the middle, continuing to flow north to the mouth of the Shuzheng Valley. All the three valleys are accessible both by shuttle bus and boardwalks. There are 17 waterfall groups, 47 springs and 114 lakes in the national park.
Huanglong literally means "Yellow Dragon"" in Chinese. Listed as World Cultural Heritage in 1992 together with Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong is famous for Huanglonggou (Yellow Dragon Gully) and waterfalls and hot springs. Honglong is located in Songpan County of Sichuan Province, 390km north of Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province.
Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong are 90 km apart, both accessible either by flights or road from Chengdu. Beside the normal transport from Chengdu, there are daily flights from Chongqing to Jiuzhaigou; from Xian, Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou in peak season.

1. Best Time to Visit Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong
You can go to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong anytime of the year, different seasons have different beauties. As for the best time to visit, it all depends.
Many people prefer to visit Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong in autumen (september - october) with clear skies and blazing colours to contrast with the azure lakes. The forests take on attractive yellow, orange and red hues in the autumn, making that season a popular one for visitors. So the area is blanketed by colorful foilage.
Summer is also a busy time to visit Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong. The whole Jiuzhaigou is in the shadow of the brightest green. Colorful waterfalls dances freely and expressing their passion. But summer is the rainy season.
Spring in Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong is still a little cold, but pleasant, the springs, the ice and snow begin to thaw and the bright mountain flowers are in full bloom.
Winter is not bad, if you're prepared for frigid temperatures. Jiuzhaigou looks quite spectacular with ice and snow Some people would like to come to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong in winter for the dramatic ice-coated trees and frozen-in-place waterfalls. All the mountain and trees are in sliver and white clothing, full of poetic and pictorial splendor.
2. Altitude Sickness
Jiuzhaigou, especially Huanglong is located over 3000 meters above sea level. To avoid possible altitude sickness, you are strongly adviced to be prep for the travel at high sea level.
1) Don't talk too much on the way
2) Don't take a bath on the first day
3) Don't drink alcohol
4) Ready for some altitude medicine
3. How to access Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong
1) The most common way is to take the flights from Chengdu
2) Take the 10-hour by the road from Chengdu
3) In peak season, there are more flights from other tourist hot cities like Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Chonging and Shanghai
