Inner Mongolia Attractions

Located at the center part of northern China, it was inhabited by Eeduosi people 20,000 years ago. With a long history, it was called Inner Mongolia for the first time in the Qing Dynasty. Beautiful and abundant in resources, Inner Mongolia is a province with the wildest longitudes in China and its special location dictates the abundance and variety of its tourism resources.

With grassland scenes and folk custom as its two major tourism resources, Inner Mongolia has such natural scenes as vast grasslands, deserts, forests, and lakes. You can enjoy the scenes described in a poem: The blue sky resembles yurt that covers places all around. On the vast grassland, a blast of wind bows grasses down and cow and sheep come into your eye.

Gegentala Grassland, Inner Mongolia

Gegentala Grassland, in Mongolian means “a summer resort” or “the place of grazing summer”. Gegentala Grassland is about 145kilometers north of Hohhot. It is the largest and unique Mongolian scenic spot bearing the Mongolia ethical features of China.

Dazhao Monastery, Inner Mongolia

Dazhao Monastery, to the east of Xilitu Zhao, is the largest and best-preserved monastery in Hohhot, Inner-Mongolia province. Dazhao means “Wu Liang” in Chinese and “Grand Monastery” in Mongolian.

Five Pagoda Temple (Wuta Si)

The Five Pagoda Temple is an important Tibetan Buddhist temple, which has been viewed as the symbol of Inner-Mongolian now. As there are five small dagbas on the pedestal of the pagoda, it is named Wuta Si, that is Five Pagoda Temple.

Inner Mongolia, Zhaojun Tomb

Zhaojun Tomb is about 9kms from Hohhot city to be the resting place of Wang Zhaojun. It has been listed among the eight most popular scenic spots in Hohhot. It is also named Green Tom.

Saishanglaojie, Inner Mongolia

On the right side of Dazhao Monastery lies an old street named Saishanglaojie with the characteristics of Ming and Qing Dynasty

Jiangjun Yashu at Suiyuan City

During the Qing Dynasty, in order to consolidate the northwest boarder, in addition to the Hohhot city, Qing Dynasty ordered to build new town called Suiyuan city.

Resonant Sand Gorge

The resonant sand gorge, meaning “dune with bugle” in Mongolian, lies to the north edge of the Kubuqi Desert with 400 meters wide and 110 meters high. The terrain is in the shape of crescent with the incline of 45 degree, coming into being a huge dune aftersound wall.

Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum

Genghis Khan is a Mongolian hero who reunified the chaotic Inner-Mongolia prairie, made great contribution to the founding of the powerful Yuan Dynasty and enhanced greatly the interaction of the people of China. Until today, Genghis Khan is still worshipped by people for his great feat.

The Ordos Grassland

The grassland, with and area of 600 square kilometers, consists of over 100 Mongolia yurts. These white yurts enchases in the green land, which is really good-looking. The whole grassland is divided into song and dance area, entertainment area, accommodation area, fete area, Mongolian folk area and so on.
