Shui Dong Gou
As one of the earliest Paleolithic excavations of cultural sites of China, Shui Dong Gou is reputed as "the Birthplace of China's Prehistoric Archeology", "Historical Evidence of Cultural Exchange between East and West". It has been listed as the national key cultural relics protection units.
Shui Dong Gou specializes in exhibiting ruins of an ancient community inhabited by human beings more than 30-thousand years ago. The Great Wall Military Defense System of Ming Dynasty is composed of Great Wall, beacon smoke stations, city barriers and camps, as well as the Ancient-Troop Hiding Cave.
The Ming Great Wall is the best protected site of Great Wall in Ningxia region. It was constructs along the Yellow River in order to get water expediently. The color of the Yellow River water is copper, so the Great Wall seems to be purple.
The black hole in the cliff is the well-know Troop Hiding Cave. Actually it is a cuniculus built during the war period to protect the army. It is the earliest site of cuniculus war and antetype.
