Ningxia Tour
Home of the Hui people, Ningxia is the short form of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, one of the five minority autonomous regions in China. The other four minority regions are Tibetans in Tibet, the Zhuangs in Guangxi, the Uyghurs in Xinjiang, and the Mongols in Inner Mongolia.
Hui people make up one third population in Ningxia.
With the city of Yinchuan as its capital, Ningxia is located on the northwest Loess highland with the Yellow River flowing past the great amount of its land and the part of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall running along its northeastern frontier. Ningxia is surrounded by Shaanxi to the east, and Gansu and Inner Mongolia to the south and the north. It has an area of about 66,400 square kilometres.
One of Ningxia's main tourist spots is the famous Xixia Tombs site located 40 km west of Yinchuan. The remnants of nine Western Xia emperors' tombs and two hundred other tombs lie within a 50-km² area. Other famous sites in Ningxia include Helan Shan Rock Carving, the mysterious 108 dagobas, Shapotou and many more.

Ningxia Travel Tips
1. Located in the northwest China's inland, Ningxia features temperate continental climate - long sunshine, strong ultraviolet. So you need to bring umbrellas, sun hats and sunscreens, water bottles, etc.
2. Ningxia'temperature generally ranges between 15 and 28 degrees Celsius with big temperature difference, so even in summer you are also recommended that you take two pieces of thick clothing.
3. Due to the relatively dry climate in Ningxia, you should timely drink water, eat salt and vitamins, to keep the body in good condition.
4. Tips for desert travel: For those living in the urban area, camels roaming in the desert is the best choice to relax. However, although the desert travel is novel and exciting, it is after all a knd of adventure tourism, which you need to awear of the following advice:
1) The desert travel is a collective activity. Don't participate in the desert travel alone.
2) Due to the large temperature difference between day and night in the desert, prepare more clothes to spare. To take some sunscreen, wear light-colored clothes.
3) In the desert, be careful to protect your cameras and mobile phones.
5. The major attractions are scattered around the vast territory of northwest China, you have to spend long time on the way. So you should well balance your travel and break time in order to have adequate strength to participate in tourism activities. Also wear a pair of fit, breathable shoes for your journey, keep your thoughts to all on the spot, and feel great.
6. Ningxia is well know for its halal food with less Chinese food and western food. You must be psychologically prepared to go there knowing that the conditions for restaurants on the sightseeing areas are comparatively poorer than coast areas. The local taste is spicy and salty.
7. The northwest territories are heavily affected by religion, customs. Please respect their religions and customs. Don't talk about political issues relating to ethnic minorities. Muslim minority areas: (including Northwest Hui, Uygur, Sarah, and Kazakhstan):
1) Don't eat pigs, dogs, horses, mules and other non-ruminant meat and blood of all animals, do not eat dead animals from.
2) Enter the mosque without smoking, drinking, and forbidden to take pictures inside.
