Xu Beihong Museum
Xu Beihong was one of the China’s most renowned artists and fine-arts educators. The museum was relocated in 1983, form Xu Beihong’s former residence to the present address, after the former residence was demolished due to subway construction.Covering 2,700 sq.m., the museum preserves over 1,200 artworks by Xu Beihong, as well as over 10,000 books and paintings collected by Xu through his lifetime. The painting Jiu Fanggao and His Steed, Tian Heng’s 500 Heros, The Foolish Old Man Moved Mountains, and others among the collection, are rare masterpieces in China’s modern art history.
