Museum of China’s Ethnic Groups
Also known as the Chinese Cultural Park of Ethnic Groups, the Museum of China’s Ethnic Groups is a large cultural base covering various ethnic minorities in China, including their traditional buildings, customs, songs and dances, handicrafts, as well as food and delicacies.Covering about 45 hectares, the museum is divided into the North Park and South Park. The former contains 16 villages of the Tibetan, Miao, Ni, Hezhe and other peoples in an area of 20 hectares.
The latter contains 21 scenic spots depicting regions inhabited by different peoples of Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Yunnan, and other places. The main building of the museum is located here as well.
All the architectural structures in the two parks were built on a 1:1 proportion with the actual buildings, and reproduce the cultural heritage of the various peoples of China. The museum holds festival celebrations every month.
Visitors can enjoy and participate in the singing and dancing, festivities, productive activities, games, handicraft making and other events, as they explore the two parks of the museum.
