Former Residence of Mao Dun
Mao Dun served as the head of the Chinese Ministry of Culture, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, vice-chairman of the China Federation of Literature and Art Circles, as well as a long-time chairman of the Chinese Writers’ Association.The last residence of Mao Dun was a Beijing-style Siheyuan dwelling where he spent his final years. The furniture in the house has been kept intact, just as when he lived here. The exhibition in the northern room introduces Mao Dun and his literary creation.
The photos and objects displayed in the eastern wing shows the tireless contribution by Mao Dun to cultural development and world peace after New China was founded. The back section contains Mao Dun’s study and bedroom.
