In Lijiang city, the major population is Naxi ethnic minority, thus the life of Lijiang has strong ethnic features, so is the nightlife in Lijiang. When dawn arrives, various recreational activities will be played in the Old Town. If you are interested in traditional music and dance, try the Naxi Ancient Music. Melodious Naxi music is performed every night from 20:00 to 21:30 by a group of local senior musicians who are typically more than 60 years old.

Xinhua Street, which runs along the water in the Old Town, is famous for its bars. Bars have become indispensable scenery of Lijiang, if you do not go bars in Lijiang, you can’t say that you have fully enjoy the night life of Lijiang. The Dongba Palace
The newly built Dongba Palace is also a famous place for Naxi Ancient music, decoratedwith typical Naxi religious symbols and ornaments which added much to the solemn cultural atmosphere. It has a daily performance at 19:30. Besides Naxi Ancient Music, the Dongba Palace hosts various cultural activities such as Naxi Dancing and staged religious rites.

Lijang International Ethnic Cultural Exchange Center
The Mountain and River Show played in this centre attracts a great number of visitors every night. This show is a comprehensive living theatre, including not only Naxi ancient music but also the traditional customs of other ethnic minorities living in Lijiang.

Old Tree Bar, Lijiang
Old Tree Bar is near Lugu Lake, operated by two young people. Old Tree Bar gets its name because of a thousand-year-old walnut tree on the viewing deck of the bar. The main body of the bar is the traditional wood house of the Mosuo ethnic people. The bar is decorated to be old-fashioned and exotic. A great variety of Mosuo featured food, self-grinded coffee, flavored tea and other beverages will be served in Old Tree Bar. Sitting in the bar, listening to the beautiful music, you can stay alone in a daze, or chat with friends, or read some books… Nothing could be more enjoyable than these things in Old Tree Bar.
