Lijiang ShoppingFrom the Tang Dynasty (618-907), Lijiang has been an important stop along an important trade road – Tea-Horse Trading Route, just as famous as the Silk Road. Reportedly, the legendary Tea-Horse Trading Road connects Kunming with Tibet and even further into India, which was prosperous in southwestern China. Of course, thousands of years of changes have resulted in the disappearance of the road. However, the Lijiang Old Town, which once was an important meeting point for all kinds of trade, nowadays, is till a distribution point for merchandise from different parts of China and abroad. Lijiang Snow Tea
Snow tea, also called as Taibai tea, got the name due to its color just as pure white as snow. It can not be cultivated, but totally a wild-growing plant. It grows in the Bryophytes area, which is about 4000 meters above sea-level.
