Location: Ruili is in the west of Yunnan Province, about 752km from Kunming.

History: Ruili is the cradle of the ancient culture of Dai nationality. Ruili River Valley is one of the places inhabited by ancient human beings. The cultural relics include Pattra Leaves Scripture and ruins of ancient city. The ancient city wall of Mengmao is the oldest wall of Dai nationality discovered up to now. Ruili is called the hometown of songs and dances and has been entitled the “hometown of farmers’ painting in China” by the State Cultural Ministry.
Climate: Ruili has a humid subtropical climate, with warm weather year-round and plentiful sunshine. A dry heat prevail from March to early May before the monsoon from the Indian Ocean arrives, often bringing temperatures above 31 °C. From June to August rain is heavy and occurs more than 24 days per month. January is the coolest months, with a daily average of 13.0 °C, while June is the warmest, at 24.6 °C. Nearly 70% of the annual rainfall is delivered from June to September. Frost is extremely rare.
Transportation: There is no Airport and long-distant bus station, you have to via at Kunming Airport. No bus is available in Ruili City, you could take a taxi.
