Zhuhai Travel Guide
Location:
Zhuahi is a prefecture-level city on the southern coast of Guangdong province. Located in the Pearl River Delta, Zhuhai borders Jiangmen to the northwest, Zhongshan to the north, and Macau to the south.
History:
The unearthed cultural relics prove that our ancestors have lived and multiplied on this land early in the Neolithic Age 4,000 years ago.
In the Tang Dynasty, Xiangshan Town was established in 757, which was subordinate to Dongguan County.
In the Northern Song Dynasty Xiangshan Town became a salt producer and thus had the nickname of Xiangshan Salt Workshop. In the Southern Song Dynasty, the four seaside counties of Nanhai, Panyu, Xinhui and Dongguan were incorporated into one county named Xiangshan in 1152.
In 1953, Zhuhai County was set up, which was the amalgamation of Xiangshan, Wanshan Archipelago, Sanzao Island and Dangan Archipelago.
In 1979, Zhuhai County was changed to be Zhuhai Municipality. In 1980, Zhuhai became a special economic zone.
Transportation:
Zhuhai Sanzao Airport is located in Jinwan District. This airport has over 30 domestic routes connecting Zhuhai with several majorcities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Changsha,Haikou, Xiamen, etc.
There are more than ten long-distance bus stations in Zhuhai with lots of buses to and from cities both inside and outside Guangdong Province.
Jiuzhou Harbor Passenger Building is located at No. 599, Qinglu Nan Lu. This harbor is the marine transportation hub between South China and Asia-Pacific Area.
Dining:
The style of Zhuhai cuisine is similar to that of Shenzhen. It is dominated by Guangdong cuisine and also incorporates cuisines of other parts in the world.
Jinding Barbeque opens around 5:30pm and ends around midnight. It is by far the largest outdoor street barbeque in Zhuhai.
There is a multitude of outdoor eating establishments with high quality seafood in Gongbei near the Macau border.
Other tasty local grub in Gongbei can be found on any of the side streets off of Lotus Road.
Nightlife:
Every night after sundown, young people in the city gather at Harbor Bar Street for drinks with friends, dancing, or just hanging out.
Visitors can take a ferryboat to the charming islands of Zhuhai or just have a cruise in the offing,
Or just listen to Cantonese Opera in the theaters.
Weather:
Zhuhai has a subtropical monsoon climate. The city enjoys adequate sunshine and rainfall.
The annual average temperature is 22.4 degrees celsius. The temperature in January and February is the lowest. The temperature rises in April. From May to September it gets relatively hotter and more rainfall.
The annual average precipitation is 1,700 to 2,300 millimeters. East wind blows all the year. However, southeast wind dominates in the summer and northeast wind dominates in the winter. In summer and autumn, typhoon hits the city. The average relative air humidity is 79%.
Attractions:
New Yuanming Palace
Located at the foot of the Lanpu Dashilin mountain, covering an area of 1.4 square kilometers, the New Yuanming Palace is a reproduction of the imperial Yuanming Palace in Beijing, one of the favorite gardens of the late emperors of the Qing dynasty.
The New Yuanming Palace in Zhuhai recovered numerous scenic spots in their old construction style combined with modern features, including the complex of royal palaces, Fuhai Lake, Royal Food Street and shops in different types.

Statue of Fisher Girl
The Statue of fisher girl has become the landmark in the city of Zhuhai, located at the scenic Xianglu Bay.
The fisher girl is very beautiful with a little shy, she stands at the charming Xianglu Bay in an elegant pose, and raising a bright pearl with both hands high in the air, symbolizes Zhuhai's brightness.The statue was designed by a famous chinese sculptor, Panhe. The granite with 8.7 meters high and 10 tons in weight.

Meixi Royal Stone Archways Tourist Area
The Meixi Royal Stone Archways is located at Mei Xi Village in Qianshan town, Zhuhai City.
Meixi Royal Stone Archways Tourist Area was built in the late 19th century, covering 126,000 square meters.
The Meixi Royal Stone Archways area has a very beautiful garden scenery, and its service facilities are excellent. It is not far from the city, and making your way there and back easy.
