We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Dongguan, a prefecture-level city of Guangdong province, is located in the mid-south of GuangDong province and east of the Pearl River estuary, Dongguan borders Guangzhou on the north and Shenzhen on the south.

Dongguan is an ancient city with a long history which can be traced back to more than 5000 years ago.
It was in Humen, a town of Dongguan, that the event of Incineration of Opium took place, which opened a new chapter in china’s modern history. During the War of Resistance against Japan, Dongguan had been a base for the resistance forces in the East River Basin area, where thousands of Dongguan people fought bravely for and devoted their lives to the nation’s independence and prosperity.
Thanks to its long history and glorious revolutionary tradition, Dongguan has become a well-known historic and cultural city in south Guangdong.

Transportation:
Dongguan is a hub of communications of linking up two special zones in ear of grain and Hong Kong, two sides of the ZhuJiang River and Shenzhen, Zhuhai, the traffic is convenient.
The Guangzhou airport is just over an hour from the Dongguan city center. There is a shuttle bus to the Dongguan airport check-in station at the South China Mall in Wanjiang.
Hong Kong's Mass Transit Railway offers service (the former Kowloon-Canton Railway service) from Hung Hom Station in Hong Kong to Guangzhou with a stop in Dongguan.
The most popular method for Hong Kong locals to travel to Dongguan is by bus. There are several companies that offer bus travel to Dongguan from Hong Kong.

Accommodations are available at any price range in Dongguan. For those on a budget, several budget hotel chains have set up shop. Look for locations of the following brands: Home Inn, Jinjiang Inn, GreenTree Inn, 7 Days Inn, Motel 168, and City Inn.
Those looking for a little luxury might find the following four-stars a little more appealing; the Golden Lake Guangdong Hotel Dongguan, the Dynasty Hotel Dongguan, and the Metropolitan Hotel Dongguan, all of which are downtown. If you're all about the creature comforts of a five-star property, you'll find the Sheraton Hotel Dongguan, the Sunshine Hotel (beautiful, large outdoor swimming pool), the Richwood Garden Hotel (with a large poolside garden), and the Regal Palace Hotel Dongguan more befitting your needs.

The diet in Dongguan is still primarily by the Cantonese cuisine. But the economical development has led the entire local prosperity, now not only can taste the Cantonese cuisine in Dongguan, but also can taste the Hunan cuisine, the Shandong cuisine, the Sichuan cuisine, the northeast cuisine and so on the domestic famous cuisine.
