History: The history of Liaoning could be traced back to 400,000-500,000 years ago, when it was the activity region of our ancestor. During the Neolithic Age, besides ancestors of the Han nationality, ancestors of Donghu nationality and Suzhen nationality once lived here. Animal husbandry and handicraft industry had come into prototype and bronze ware came into use at that time.
As the birthplace of Qing Dynasty, Liaoning was under the administration of Shengjing Special Administrative Region (Shenyang nowadays). After the establishment of Republic of China, Fengtian Province was changed into Liaoning Province, after the establishment of Republic of China, Fengtian Province was changed into Liaoning Province,
Climate: Liaoning enjoys a temperate continental monsoon climate with four distinctive seasons. Winters are long and cold, while summers are warm. Its annual temperature averages from 7℃-11℃ with the highest temperature of 30℃ in July and the lowest temperature of -30℃ in January. It has a annual precipitation between 600mm-1100mm, descending from eastern region to western area. The rain falls up to 1100mm in the eastern part, while the western regions lows to 400mm . The annual free-frost period lasts for 130-200 days.
Transportation: Air-There are 7 airports in Liaoning Province in total including Shenyang Xiantao International Airport, Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport, Dandong Langtou International Airport, Jinzhou Xiaolingzi Airport, Chaoyang Airport, Anshan Tengao Airport and Changhai Airport. Yingkoulanqi Airport, Dalian Jinzhouwan International Airport and Jinzhouwan International Airport are under construction.
Railway - The railway network in Liaoning province has the highest density. Many railways radiate to other destinations centering on Shenyang. Harbin-Dalian High-speed Railway and Panjin-Xiajiahe High-speed Railway have been opened separately in 2012 and 2013. Beijing-Shenyang High-speed Railway, Shenyang-Dandong High-speed Railway and Dandong-Dalian Railway are under construction.
Highway - Highways in Liaoning Province lead into other directions centering on Shenyang. Beijing-Shenyang Highway, Shenyang-Haikou Highway, Shenyang-Dandong Highway, Shenyang-Jilin Highway, Tieling-Maojiadian Highway have been completed.
Waterway - Dalian Port and Yingkou Port are two national important hub ports. Dandong and Jinzhou are two local important hub ports.
Specialties: Three Treasures such as Shizhu ginseng, White ginseng as well as Pilose antler takes important role in China.
