History: As a well-known historical and cultural city, the history of Shenyang could be traced back to 30,000 years ago. From Spring and Autumn and Warring State period, Shenyang has a history of more than 2,600 years as a city. In 1625, Nurhaci moved the capital of Later Jin Dynasty to Shenyang, named Shengjing at that time. In 1644, Huang Taiji moved the capital to Beijing and left Shenyang as secondary capital.
Climate: Shenyang enjoys a temperate monsoon climate characterized four distinctive seasons. Winters are dry and cold due to the Siberian anticyclone. Summers are hot and humid under the influence of the monsoon. It has an annual average temperature of 6.2℃-9.7℃. Monthly mean temperatures range from −11.0℃ in January to 24.7℃ in July. The annual precipitation is between 600mm to 800mm, half of which occurs in July. The free-frost period is 155~180 days and it receives 2,468 hours of sunshine annually.
Transportation: Airway-As one of the air transport hubs in China, Shenyang Xiantao International Airport is the largest in Northeast China. Attractions: Shenyang Imperial Palace- Shenyang Imperial Palace (沈阳故宫), originally built in 1625, is one of the two most complete imperial complexes that existent. It has been listed as the Key Cultural Relics Site Under the State Protection. The building covers an area of over 60,000 square kilometers with more than 300 rooms, displaying numerous imperial cultural relics.
Shenyang Zhao Mausoleum-Zhao Mausoleum (照陵) is the tomb of the second king-Huang Taiji and his queen. It is a perfect interest combining the imperial mausoleum of Qing Dynasty and modern garden. Zhao Mausoleum is the second Key Cultural Relics Site Under the State Protection in Shenyang due to its profound history and mysterious scene.
Shenyang Dong Mausoleum- Dong Mausoleum (东陵) is the third Key Cultural Relics Site Under the State Protection in Shenyang. It is the tomb of Nurhaci and his queen. Occupying an area of over 500 hectares, Dong Mausoleum features delicate sculpture.
