History: The evidence replies that in Shang and Zhou Dynasty, this region mastered advanced bronze technique. In Warring State, the city civilization began to develop. In 1906, Jinxi county was set up, which became a vital center to defend the aggression of Japan. In 1989, the region was authorized as a prefecture-level city and changed the name Jinxi to Huludao.
Climate: Under the influence of temperate semi humid continental monsoon climate, Huludao features rainless, arid spring, horrid summer, cool autumn and cold winter. The annual average temperature is approximately 8℃-9℃ with a free-frost period of 150-180 days. The annual precipitation averages 500mm-750mm while its annual evaporation capacity ranges between 1480mm-1970mm.
Transportation: Airway-Huludao is about 18km from Jinzhouwan International Airport, which is under construction and about 50 km from Shanhaiguan Airport.
Railway- Huludao Railway Station, situated in the city center mainly offers passing ordinary trains. Huludao North Railway Station mainly service high speed trains, which shortens the distance between Huludao to Beijing.
Highway-Huludao has advanced highway network. The highway in Huludao leads into all directions. National Road 102,305, Beijing-Shenyang Highway and Liaoning Coastal Highway run through the city. It cost only 5 hours to Beijing and half and two hours to Shenyang.
Waterway-Huludao Port banks against Beijing-Harbin Railway and Beijing-Harbin Highway. In Nov., 2010, Huludao Port was opened to the public formally.
Specialties: Suizhong Grass Embroidery became into popular as early as Qing Dynasty.
Local Food: Huludao borders on Liaodong bay, so it is abundant in sea food, such as prawn, crab, razor clam, jellyfish and so on.
Attractions: Xingcheng- Xingcheng (兴城),an ancient cultural city with a history of more than 2,200 years, is viewed as Pearl of Bo Sea. Occupying an area of 42 square kilometers, Xincheng lies at the food of mountain and faces the sea, known as the Second Beidai River. With the combination of mountains, sea, ancient towns and hot spring, the city has been listed as a modern now tourist resort city.
