Tour Itinerary:
The Western Tombs of Qing Dynasty in Yixian County is one of the two burial sites for the remains of emperors, empresses, consorts,and princesses in Qing Dynasty ( 1644-1911).
It is situated about 100km away west of Beijing among the mountains at Yixian County, Hebei Province. This site is a bit smaller than that of the Eastern Tombs and with fewer emperors and empresses buried.
The burial site covers the Tai Tomb of Emperor Yongzheng, the Chang Tomb of Emperor Jiaqing, the Mu Tomb of Emperor Daoguang, the Chong Tomb of Emperor Guangxu, and the tombs of some empresses, consorts, princes and princesses.
The one for the last emperor, Xuantong, was incomplete when the Qing Dynasty ended. The last emperor Xuantong, named Pu Yi, died in Beijing Hospital 1967. Puyi's body was cremated. In 1995, Puyi's widow transferred his ashes to a cemetery located near the Western Qing Tombs.
The site of Western Qing Tombs was listed as world heritage in 2000 together with others Imperial Tombs of the Ming and Qing Dynasties
