Two special day tours in Beijing are organised after the conference for participants and accompanying persons. The Beijing cultural experience tour is handled by Beijing Xinhua International Tours under the authorization of the Organizing Committee.

Beijing City Exploring Day Tour (Nov.18,2009)

Pick up from your hotel at 8:30 am. First visit Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world.
Then move on to the Imperial Palace, also known as the "Forbidden City", the Chinese imperial palace from the mid-Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty.
After lunch, proceed to the Summer Palace, one of China's largest imperial garden.
Then head to the Shichahai area to explore the old hutong in Beijing by taking a rickshaw.
Great Wall Excursion Day Tour (Nov.19,2009)

Pick up at your hotel around 8:00am. First head to the Underground Palace ( Dingling, part of the Ming Dynasty Tombs complex ). It is the only one of the Ming Dynasty Tombs to have been excavated.
After lunch, continue to drive to Mutianyu Great Wall, which takes about one hour. The Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings - dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of the year.
After the Great Wall hiking, drive back to the city center of Beijing and stop at the Olympic Stadiums for photo taking ( no entry ). Transferred back to your hotel in Beijing.
