Lhasa Attractions
Lhasa, capital of Tibet, is at the central south of the Tibet Autonomous Region, and on the northern bank of the Lhasa River, which is one of the tributaries of the Tsangpo River.
Lhasa in Tibetan means sacred land, abode of the Gods and land of pleasure. It is a famous historic and cultural city in China and also one of the cities with the highest altitude in the world, hence its reputations “city of sun” and “City of Sunshine”.
Lhasa had been made the center of political and religious activities in Tibet for several times in its history of over one hundred years, so it well deserves the name “Holy Land”. Lhasa is the most featured and dreamt-about cities in the world, because of its impressive heritage of over a thousand years of cultural and spiritual history that has helped to create the romantic and mysterious Tibetan religion.
