Your tour will begin with Beijing's most delicious food, a traditional Peking Duck dinner. Peking Duck is prepared from specially-bred Beijing crammed duck with a unique roasting process which gives it a perfect combination of color, aroma and taste, a crisp thin skin and a mouth-melting and delicious flavor.
After Beijing Duck Dinner, you will experience Peking Opera at Liyuan Theatre. Peking Opera has entertained Beijingers for over 200 years with its elaborate costumes, ear-splitting arias, dazzling martial arts and musical dialogue. Peking opera of China is a national treasure with a history of 200 years. In the year 1790 during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, there were the four major Huiban opera Troupes which came to the capital and blended with Kunqu opera, Yiyang opera, Hanju opera and Luantan in Beijing's opera circle of that time. After the combination and integration of various kinds of opera over half century, the present Peking opera, was formed.
Beijing Opera is quite a cultural experience, completely different of the western opera. The ritual of the dressing, the make up and the masks are unique. The stories are interesting, they play several short performances with very different characters. After the show, returned to your hotel in Beijing.
