Pick up from your hotel in Beijing around 8:00am and start westward to your first destination today - Fragrant Hill. It is a perfect place to escape in the lush greenery and fresh air. The best time to visit Fragrant Hills is in autumn, when the trees turn the hills fiery red. Nevertheless. On both sides of the street leading to the entrance to Fragrant Hill, you will be able to find shops peddling fruits, snacks and toys. If you are not in the mood for a climb, you can take the chair lift up Fragrant Hills. The chair lift (optional)is a good way to enjoy Fragrant Hills'scenery in comfort. The 576 meters tall peak commands an excellent view of the surrounding greenery and city.  |

After Chinese lunch, continue your trip to Beijing Botanical Garden nearby. Beijing Botanical Gardens are located in the western outskirts of the city between Xiangshan Park and Jade Spring Mountain. Although the gardens are not large, with only some 3,000 different plant species, many famous and rare plant specimens are on display. Excellent displays are made monthly in the main conservatory, penjing (bonsai) garden, the arboretum and 14 outdoor gardens: tree-peony garden, peony garden, rose garden, ornamental peach garden, lilac garden, crabapple-contoneaster garden, magnolia garden, fall color garden, perennial garden, bamboo garden and mume flower garden. There are more than 4 million visitors every year from domestic and oversea.
