Datong Kwan-yin Hall
Located on a small mountain 7.5 kilometers away from Datong City, the Kwan-yin Hall was originally set up in Liao Dynasty and once destroyed in the war. The present one is rebuilt in Qing Dynasty on the site.
Kwan-yin Hall is on an south-north exit facing the south with a stage, Kwan-yin Hall, Sanzhen Palace, Pavilion, etc in a range. The gate was made up of bricks with several words “Kway-yin Hall” written on it. A stage was constructed at the entrance of the hole, 8 meters high from the ground.
Under the hole was the ancient pavement for vehicles, horses and people. In front of the gate, there is a screen wall made of colored glaze, on which caved vivid picture with three dragons playing in the water. The featured architecture in the temple is the Bell Tower, which was absorbed the nomadic tented style and formed its own style. A stone Kwan-yin statue with 6-meter high is standing inside the palace. Two statue on the both sides are in attendance.
The fresco in the second courtyard is the most attractive. Flamboyant mural paintings mainly for the Buddhist stories were drew on the 100-meter long wall with supernal art value.
