My wife, and I have just returned from our exciting side trip to Pingyao for the weekend we spent in Beijing. We have received the most dedicated and professional service from our guide - Mr. Allen Cai and also from the professional driver - Mr.Wang. I cannot speak too highly of the service provided together with the accommodation. My fears about the accommodation in Pingyao was totally unfounded. I found the accommodation in Pingyao is fantastic! It is very comfortable and the service was also very good.

Situated at a place 90kms south of Taiyuan, Pingyao is the best preserved ancient city in our country. There are many cultural relics and historical sites in Pingyao, such as the most intact ancient county city wall in China, which was made of bricks and stones and built in the early days of the Ming Dynasty; the main hall of Zhenguo Temple, an ancient wooden building that was built in the Five-Dynasty Period…… In addition to these cultural relics and historical sites, another obvious characteristic of Pingyao City is the courtyard with buildings on the four sides used as residence for the local people. There are 3,797 such traditional courtyards inside the city. Pingyao was called “Mini Beijing” in the Qing Dynasty, because there are a lot of rich businessmen. Rishengchang is engaged in agiotage covering 45 cities in China, and even San Francisco and New York in America. The ancient city Pingyao was proclaimed by the State Council as a national famous historical and cultural city in 1986.
Located at Qiaojiabao Village, Qixian, Qiaojia Courtyard used to be the capitalist Qiao Zhiyong’s old house. It was a Chinese old residential courtyard with an area of more than 8,000 square meters.
Founded in the third year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty (1823), Rishengchang Remittance Back is the first private financial organization of China majoring in deposit schemes, loans and remittance services.
Situated in the center of Pingyao county, the ancient city wall is the earliest, largest and the best preserved. The Wall is in the shape of squareness with the total length of 6,157 meters, the height of 10 meters.
Ming and Qing street is the south street of Pingyao ancient city, one of the ancient culture heritages. It has been the important tour sight, refracting the gloss of the ancient culture brightly.
