My wife, and I have just returned from our exciting side trip to Pingyao for the weekend we spent in Beijing. We have received the most dedicated and professional service from our guide - Mr. Allen Cai and also from the professional driver - Mr.Wang. I cannot speak too highly of the service provided together with the accommodation. My fears about the accommodation in Pingyao was totally unfounded. I found the accommodation in Pingyao is fantastic! It is very comfortable and the service was also very good.

Founded in the third year of Daoguang in Qing Dynasty (1823), Rishengchang Remittance Back is the first private financial organization of China majoring in deposit schemes, loans and remittance services. Three years after the Rishengchang was founded, its branches have scattered in Shandong, Henan, Liaonin, Jiangsu etc. The business lasts for 108 years, playing an important role in the development of civil economy and industries.
Located in west street, Rishengchang covers an area of 1,700 square meters. The economical use of land and deliberate structure show us exquisite design. After a fully restored in 1995, Rishengchang has been renamed “the museum of Chinese ‘Piaohao’”, here we can see the complete managing business of Rishengchang, lots of valuable materials and material objects. In addition, there are lots of history material showing us something about Pingyao piaohao, Shanxi piaohao and Chinese piaohao. In a word, we can feel the up and down of Chinese piaohao in "Rishengchang" .
It has around twenty rooms at three courtyards on a north-south central axis. In the front of the compound, five rooms facing the street served as the gate of the shop. The board with the shop name hangs in central position above the five rooms. The counters are arranged on either side of the front yard. The three rooms in the middle courtyard house the exchange center, where primary operations were carried out. Guest rooms are to be found in the wings beside the main hall. In the rear court there are five main halls, serving mainly as the accommodation for the senior staff and VIP customers.
For the security reason, a net made from tiny metal thread was covered over the top of the whole compound. Small bells were added on the net to make an alert if someone tried to enter the premises.
