My wife, and I have just returned from our exciting side trip to Pingyao for the weekend we spent in Beijing. We have received the most dedicated and professional service from our guide - Mr. Allen Cai and also from the professional driver - Mr.Wang. I cannot speak too highly of the service provided together with the accommodation. My fears about the accommodation in Pingyao was totally unfounded. I found the accommodation in Pingyao is fantastic! It is very comfortable and the service was also very good.

Airline
The nearest airport to Pingyao is Taiyuan Airport. Taiyuan airport is about 18kms from Taiyuan center, in the south suburb of the city. It will take about two hours from Taiyuan to Pingyao by coach.
Railway
Pingyao railway station is the northwest of Pingyao county, through to Beijing, Taiyuan, Xian and so on.
Pingyao railway station is close to Pingyao Ancient city, about 5-10 minutes by jinrick-shaw.
Highway
Pingyao is convenient in highway. It costs about several hours to Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Xian, Kaifeng, and Pingyao. The highway connected with Pingyao and Taiyuan is about 2-hour distance.
