Day By Day Itinerary
Day 01
Arrival at Hohhot and the Grassland
Xilamuren literally means "yellow river" in Mongolian. Xilamuren Grassland is teemed with green grass and fresh flowers every summer and autumn. Thanks to to the continual efforts made by the local government, the service quality is becoming better and better. As result, Xilamuren has been turned into one of the must visited pastures in Inner Mongolia.
Arriving at Xilamuren Grassalnd, you will receive a welcoming ceremony - warmly welcomed by the local Mongolians colorfully dressed. They will present each of you a silver cup of wine and Hada ( white or blue silk scarves which are tokens of greetings in Inner Mongolia ).
You are arranged to go to the stud farm to select the horse for your horseback riding. The cost for horseback riding is not included in the tour package, visiting Aobao and a herdsmen's family, which usually takes about 2-3 hours. The horseback is the highlight of the tour (pay on your own).
After horseback riding, you are arranged to see the Performances of Mongolian style wrestling, Horse racing and Equestrian in the later afternoon. The first program is wrestling competition performed by local Mongolians. Most of them are very vigorous. Then followed by Horse racing and Equestrian.

Day 02
Grassland Hohhot
If you are too tired to get up for the sunrise, we do suggest you get up a little bit earlier, enjoy walking around and inhaling fresh air. The view near these yurt area is fantastic - lake, green grassland, fresh air and more.
After simple breakfast, you will return to Hohhot. The drive from the grassland to Hohhot takes about 2 hours. After lunch in Hohhot, you will be arranged to visit Dazhao Monastery. Dazhao Lamasery is the largest and well preserved lamasery in Hohhot.
It was founded originally in Ming Dynasty, and reconstructed in Qing Dynasty. As the first Lama temple in Hohhot, it has been regarded as a religious heart for people from all over Mongolia.
Then move on to the Five Pagoda Temple. It is an important Tibetan Buddhist temple, which has been viewed as the symbol of Inner Mongolian now. As there are five small dagbas on the pedestal of the pagoda, it is named Wuta Si ( Five Pagoda Temple ), which has been listed as a national historical site since 1988.
After Five Pagoda Temple, head to Mongolia Museum. The Inner Mongolian Museum is a provincial level museum, the largest and best museum in Inner Mongolia. It has a wide selection of ethnic Mongolian items, and a historical lineage of this huge grassland province. The museum is home to a variety of interesting exhibitions that should catch your eyes.
