The best way to get around by public tansport in Hohhot is taxi and on foot. Taxi is the best choice if you are not price sensitive. Actually the taxi fare in Hohhot is quite lower than other big cities in Chin, like Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. There isn't any metro system yet in Hohhot, so walking around the city is highly recommended. Besides taxi, and walking, taking a public bus is another good way to get around - cheap, and more importantly, you can have a close look at the street scenes in a slow pace, most importantly mix with the local people for a better understanding of the city itself.
