Chengdu
Chengdu is the capital city of Sichuan Province, well known for its the giant panda , ancient grand Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. Chengdu, the famous historical and cultural city, is located in the hinterland of the West Sichuan Plain known as the "Land of Abundance". Chengdu has both high mountains and low-lying valleys. Just like its changing geographical feature, Chengdu has esperienced ups and downs in its 2,300 year history.

Wuhou Memorial Temple:
Wuhou Memorial TempleWuhou Temple (Temple of Marquis Wu) is in the southern suburbs of Chengdu to the memory of both Liu Bei (161-223), Emperor of the Kingdom of Shu in the Three Kingdoms period (220-280), and Zhuge Liang (181-234), Prime Minister of the Kingdom. Very often the temple is called Wuhou Memorial Temple. The memorial temple in a dignified and simple style, holds 47 statues of Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang and other high ranking civil officials and senior generals of the Kingdom. It has many inscribed stone tablets.





Du Fu's Thatched Cottage:
Du Fu's Thatched CottageThe Thatched Cottage of Du Fu is situated at the western suburbs of Chengdu. The cottage is the former living place of the famous Tang Dynasty poet -- Du Fu. It is siad that in the year 759 A.D and at teh age of 47, due to poverty and social riot, he moved from Gansu to the suburb of Chengdu and set up a thatched hut. He stayed in the hut for four years and he composed over 200 poems talking about the misery of the people. The original residence is no more. The present one was built in the Ming and Qing dynasties and renovated to its present size in an spacious park with a bamboo garden, a few pavilions, and bridges.





Giant Panda Breeding Research Base:
Giant Panda Breeding Research BaseThe Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is situated on the mountain of Futoushan in the northern outskirt of the Chengdu, about 20 km away from the city center. The Giant Panda Museum is a featuring museum built for Giant Panda's in the world. It gather and shows the results of human knowledge, review and research on the Giant Panda. The Museum has a wide seletion of almost 300 rare pictures with scientific accurate charts about Giant Panda.





Qingchengshan & Dujiangyan Irrigation System:
Qingchengshan & Dujiangyan Irrigation SystemDujianyang Irrigation system was first built in the 3rd century BC. Now it still continues to control the waters of the Minjiang river and distribute it to the fertile farmland of the Chengdu plains. Mount Qingcheng was the birthplace of Taoism. It is dotted with a number of ancient temples. Mount Qingcheng (Qingchengshan) is one of the ancient cradles of Daoism. The mountain has many Daoist temples and sites. The area is green all year round and is noted for its secluded tranquility.





Emei Mountain and Giant Buddha of Leshan:
Emei Mountain and Giant Buddha of LeshanEmei Mountain is located of over 20 KM southwest of Emeishan City. It is one of the four Buddhist mountains in China that Buddhists consider sacred. The mountain extends over 200 kilometers from south to north. Its main peak, Wanfo Top, is about 3,099 meters above sea level. Since ancient times Emei Mountain has been regared as "Beauty Under Heaven." Most of the temples were set up as early as the Eastern Han Dynasty (24-220).





Leshan:
LeshanThe Leshan Giant Buddha lies in Leshan, Sichuan Province. It was carved in 713 AD in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). The statue is not Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, but it is his disciple Maitreya, a Buddha. With a sitting height of 71 meters, the Leshan Giant Buddha is regarded as the world's largest statue of a Buddha carved in rock. When it was first built. it was protected by a 13-story wooden structure. It was destroyed during the wars in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. Now the Buddha has been exposed to the wind and rain from then on.



Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area
It was located in the mountains bordering Nanping, Songpan and Pingwu counties in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture of northwestern Sichuan. It is a fairyland called Jiuzhaigou – Nine-Village Valley, the home of nine Tibetan villages. The valley is 50 kilometers long. Jiuzhaigou is scattered with over 100 fantastic lake. Most of the lakes have a high mix of calcium carbonate, so that the lakebeds and embankments are normally covered with crystals. The water is so clear that the bottom is visible despite how deep the lakes are. Waterfalls are a must-to-see the scenery in Jiuzhaigou. In 1992, UNESCO offered this scenic area as one of the the world natural heritage listed.

Huanglong:
HuanglongIt is located at Songpan Ccounty of Aba Qiang Autonomous Region in Sichuan Province. In 1992, Huanglong was listed in the Wold Natural Heritage Directory by UNESCO. It was named after the ancient Huanglong Temple within the area. The most amazing view in the area is the Huanglong Valley known for its featuring open karst landscape. The main attraction of the valley is the 3.6 kilometers long and 30 to 70 meters wide pale yellow calcareous deposits.The Huanglong Temple is located on the top of the scenic area. To the south of the temple is Xuebaoding, the main peak of the snow-capped Minshan Mountain.
