Terra Cotta Army Trip
By Daniel Li on his escorted
group tour of Xian and more
Daniel Li,
I am writing to you to thank you very much for our wonderful trip to Xian. The tour that you organised was fantastic. Sorry for the delay in feedback. I thank you for all your prompt and quick replies to our needs and desires for the tour that we took on Feb 10, 2008. You are very professional and provided what we had requested. I enjoyed my tour of Xian - from start to finish. It was most comforting to have my tour guide meet me at the airport. Your tour guide - Ms Mary Ma is exceptional in both her English and her knowledge of her subject. She is to be congratulated.
I have no hesitation in recommending your company to other travellers.
Thank you once again.
Kind regards
Janet Hawke

First have a one hour tour of Banpo Museum. Banpo Neolithic Village Museum gets its name from the remains of Banpo village which is located east of Xian. The remains were discovered in 1953. The village was inhabited from about 4500 BC. It is recorded that about 6000 years ago, a village was set up by a late Neolithic people. There were about 500 villagers who lived in the village. Visitors can still see the remains of over 40 houses, over 200 cellars, 6 kilns.
After visit Banpo Museum and on the way to the Qin Shi Huang's tomb, you are arranged to go shopping at the Qin Terra-cotta figures factory for about 40 minutes.
Then move on to the unopened Qin Shi Huang's tomb (the first emperor's tomb), the largest underground royal tomb in the world. There is evidence suggesting that Qin Shi Huang's Tomb remains relatively intact. Qin Shi Huang (259 BC - 210 BC), the first emperor of China, ascended the throne at the age of 13, when construction of his tomb began. He ordered 720,000 conscript laborers to to build his royal tomb. It was completed just-in-time in 210 BC for his use. His son, the second Qin Emperor, saw his entombment. The tomb is located just 15km west of the site of Terra-cotta Army.
After lunch, move on to the Terra-cotta Army for a 3-hour visit. This profound discovery made a sensation across the whole world! The museum was officially finished and opened to the public on October 01, National Day, 1979. The exhibition hall of Pit No. 3 was finished and opned to the public on September 27, 1989. 5 years later, the exhibition hall of Pit No. 2 was open to the public in October, 1994. The museum and the mausoleum are listed the world's cultural legacies as the UNESCO.
At the end of the day tour, you are transferred back to your downtown hotel in Xian.
