Itinerary:
Pick up from your midtown hotel in Hangzhou and head to China National Tea Museum. It is the only national tea museum in China. The museum is surrounded by groves of tea trees and the area is beautifully manicured. The museum itself is a comprehensive museum and has descriptions in English and Chinese. Then continue to visit China National Silk Museum. As the first national level silk specialized museum, this museum is arranged to reflect over 5,000 years of silk development history of China. It consists of eight exhibition halls, namely, Prelude Hall, Relics Hall, Folk Custom Hall, Silkworm Hall, Silk Manufacturing Hall, Weaving Hall, Dying Hall and Achievements Hall.
After Chinese lunch, you are taken to former residence of Hu Xueyan. This Former Residence of Hu Xueyan was constructed in the 11th year (1872) of the reign of Emperor Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty at huge expense. Hu Xueyan (1823-1885) was one of the richest and most famous businessmen in Qing Dynasty. In 1872, Hu Xueyan spent 100,000 liang silver to build a house at the very prosperous site in Hangzhou – Hefang Street. Aferwards, continue to visit Official Kiln Museum of the Southern Song Dynasty. Hangzhou was the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127–1279) in Chinese history. Hangzhou flourished as a major porcelain production center during the reign of the Southern Song Dynasty. The museum has three sections each showing the rich history of porcelain in China - Ancient kiln protection, a relic display and an ancient imitation workshop. After the whole day tour, you are transferred back to your midtown hotel in Hangzhou.
