We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Guizhou Tour

Gui Zhou With Guiyang as its capital, Guizhou Province is situated in the southwest of China, bordered by Hunan Province to its east, Guangxi to the south, Yunnan the west and Chongqing the north. Guizhou is a mountainous province with its west part more hilly and the eastern and southern portions relatively flat. The western part of the province is part of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau.

Guizhou is comparatively poorer than other provinces. But great government efforts has been made to build the new highways, airports, new economic development zones. Not long before Guizhou will discard its reputation as the backward province in China.

Among the many reasons to visit Guizhou, the most important things to do are to visit the mythical Karst caves, dense forests, cascading waterfalls, the famous Caohai Lake and more natural resources as well as to meet the lively ethnic minorities including Miao, Dong, Buyi, Zhuang, Shui and more, which makes up 38% of the total population in Guizhou.

The major counties and cities in Guizhou are now easily accessed by trains, highway, roads. Its capital city Guiyang is linked to over 40 destinations by by flight and to all almost all major cities in China by train.

Guizhou Food
Guizhou food is similar to Sichuan and Hunan cuisines, but it has some unique features which emphasise a combination of sour and spicy tastes, which is similar to that of Shaanxi food. Guizhou cuisine is often cooked to meet the flavour of locally produced liquor, such as Maotai, which is drunk with the food. One of the prominent characteristic of Guizhou cuisine is its unique salt pickled vegetable.

There are many options of street food in Guiyang if you'd like to dine out. You can find night food markets or just clustered restaurants on Shaanxi Road, Hequn Road and Ruijin East Road. Try a local casserole hotpot with vegetable, noodle, seafood combination.

In Kaili, you can find plenty of eateries or night markets on Beijing East Road or near Guotai Grand Hotel. The best place for the night market in Anshun is on Gufu Street which is lined witn food stalls offering noodles, barbecued fish, Uighur kebabs. In Zunyi, you won't be disappointed with the local food. You can easily find the street food offering hotpot, noodle and grill food. The busy Xiangshan Road and some small lanes off Zhonghua South Road have everything from barbecued fish, Guangdong food and local food. In Chishui, Renmin Weat Road is the best place to enjoy the food including noodle, rice dishes, dumplings and mang more.
