Xian Xianyang Museum
Located in the Zhongshan Street, Xianyang city of Shaanxi Province, Xianyang Museum is a local history museum built on the site of the Confucian temple of Miang Dynasty. It was opened to public in 1962.
Historically, Xianyang was the capital of the Qin Dynasty. Qinshihuang established the first uniform, multinational and centralized feudalism state. 9 Emperor as well as many imperial relatives of Western Han buried here, so Xianyang is abundant in the cultural redic.
The museum boasts a collection of over 12,000 cultural relics of the Qin, Han and Tang Dynasties. Covering an area of 1,100 sq meters, The museum is divided into 6 classrooms.
No.1, 2, and 3 classrooms exhibit cultural relics such as weapon, copper and golden coin, jade, pottery and even building material of the Qin Dynasty. In No.4 classroom, the cultural relics of Western Han Dynasty are the mail attraction, including iron dead stock, colored crockery and glaze crockery. No.5 and 6 displays the Han Dynasty Terra-cotta soldiers, which are as grand as the Qin Terra-cotta soldiers. No.7, 8 and 9 mainly display religious relics. There is a status of Sitting Buddha made in the Ming Dynasty, which is the largest one of its kind.
