Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Xining

Arrival in Xining, the capital city of Qinghai Province. Be met and transferred to our designated hotel in Xining. Free for rest of the day.

Day 02: Xining - Qinghai Lake 200km Stay at Qinghai Lake

Visit Ta'er Monastery (Kumbum Monastery) in the town of Huangzhong 26km south of Xining, where is the birthplace of the founder of the Gelugpa Sect of Tibetan Buddhism - Tsongkhapa. The temple was later built in 1577. Then drive to Qinghai Lake. On the way, you will have a stop to see the Mt. Sun and Moon, where the princess Wenchen threw the mirror down and married into the Tibetan area among the Tang Dynasty. Sightseeing at Qinghai Lake.

Day 03: Qinghai Lake - Tongren 400km Stay at Tongren

Visit Longwu Monastery and appreciate murals, tangka and statues that abound in this area

Day 04: Tongren - Xiahe - Labrang Monastery 200km Stay at Xiahe

Visit Labrang Monastery, one of the six great monasteries of the Geluk (Yellow Hat) school of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery was
founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Zhaypa, Ngawang Tsondru. It is Tibetan Buddhism's most important monastery town outside the Tibetan Autonomous Region. Labrang Monastery is located in the town of Xiahe, which belongs to the Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The monastery was founded in 1709 by the first Jamyang Zhaypa, Ngawang Tsondru.

Day 05: Xiahe - Songpan 523km Stay at Songpan

Pass by Gannan Grassland and Ruoergai Grassland

Day 06: Songpan - Jiuzhaigou 117km Stay at Jiuzhaigou

Day 07: Jiuzhaigou Stay at jiuzhaigou

After breakfast, walk to the entrance to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area. Jiuzhaigou has three valleys naturally formed in a "Y" shape. The Rize Valley 17km long and Zechawa Valley 18km long flow from the south and meet at a confluence where they form the Shuzheng valley 15km long in the middle, continuing to flow north to the mouth of the Shuzheng Valley. All the three valleys are accessible both by shuttle bus and boardwalks.

Day 08: Jiuzhaigou - Chengdu 450km  Stay at Chengdu

Drive about 10 hours from Jiuzhaigou and arrive at Chengdu.

Day 09: Leave Chengdu

Transferred to Chengdu Railway Station or airport for your next destination.
