Shanghai International Convention Center
Located at Lujiazui, Pudiong, opposite to the Bund on the other side of the river, the International Convention Center is a first-rate, modernized building in the world. Together with Oriental Pearl TV Tower it has formed a popular tourist sight in the Lujiazui area.
With a total floor space of 110,000 square meters, Shanghai International Convention Center is equipped with the most modern venues. In the center it consists of two enormous spheres on which a patchwork of world map is made with glass. The map means Shanghai goes to the world. Its external wall utilizes a micro-crystal curtain wall, a granite curtain wall, an aluminum-plate curtain wall, and a class curtain wall, etc. The center, where the global forum of Fortune was held in September 1999, is composed of a 4,400 square-meter grand banquet hall, a 3,600 square-meter press center and nearly 30 halls and meeting rooms of different sizes and levers to meet the need of different types of meetings. The center has 270 guest rooms of multiplicity including presidential suites, executive suites and standard suites rooms.
Furthermore, the center is complete with advanced food facilities and comfortable recreational places such as the Chinese and Western restaurants, a special cuisine restaurant, a coffee room, a ball rooms, a sauna bath and a shopping arcade, a parking lot for 600 cars. To tourist, it has some mystery to explore.
