Day 01: Arrival in Beijing
Arrival in Beijing, met and transferred to your hotel in Beijing - Beijing Oriental Culture Hotel (or Tiantan Hotel ). Free for the rest of the day.
Day 02: Beijing
Starting the day with a visit to Tiananmen Square, the world largest square of this kind. Then move on to the imperial palace, also known as the "Forbidden City" that symbolizes the imperial and traditional China. Contine to visit Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for peace and harvest. After lunch, head to Summer Palace, the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden. It is regarded as a museum of gardens in China. Transferred back to your hotel. ( B L )
Day 03: Beijing
After breakfast, have an excursion to the Great Wall, symbol of Chinese civilization. After lunch, go on with the visit to Dingling, one of the Ming Tombs, where 13 emperors were buried in Ming Dynasty. Peking Duck dinner and Peking Opera Show in the evening. ( B L D )
Day 04: Beijing - Huangshan by later afternoon flight
Spend most of the day still in Beijing touring the old part of Beijing - Hutong tour. First visit Drum Tower dating from 1420, ascending the big drum tower and having bird's eye view of the surrounding communities of hutongs and siheyuan. Then drive to an ordinary family courtyard home for a tea break. After tea break, take a pedicap to visit Da Jinsi Hutong Tao, the most famous hutongs keeping the original layout in the Shichahai area. Then move on to the Prince Gong's Mansion, the private living place of He Shen, a favorite minister of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It was first constructed in 1777. In 1851, the mansion was offered to Prince Gong by Emperor Xianfeng (1851-1862), hence the name. Now it is the most well preserved mansion in Beijing. After the tour, you will be transferred to Beijing airport for Huangshan. Arrival at Huangshan Airport, met by our local Englih speaking tour guide and transfered to Huangshan International Hotel in Huangshan ( add: 31 Huangshan Road, Tunxi, Huangshan Tel:86-559-2565678 ). Free for rest of the day.
Day 05: Cable car up to Mount Huangshan
After breakfast at your hotel, head to Huangshan Scenic Area, about 1.5-hour's drive, 80km away from your hotel in Tunxi. Arriving at Yungu Telpher Station where you take cable car up to the mountain. Check in at your hotel - Beihai Hotel ( Add: located in the Beihai Scenic Area Tel: 86-559-5582555 ). After lunch, you start your sightseeing in Huangshan. Today your visit is focused on Beihai Scenic Area and Xihai Scenic Area including the visits of Brush Pen Peak, Begin-to-Believe Peak, Lion Peak, Xihai Grand Canyon. Enjoy sunset at Cloud Dispelling Pavilion in the evening. Stay at Beihai Hotel including dinner. ( B L D )
Day 06: Cable down Mt.Huangshan - Hangzhou by express bus
Get up early to try your luck to see sunrise at the top of Mount Huangshan. After breakfast at your hotel, beigin your visit in Yuping Scenic Area including Flying-over Rock, the Brightness Peak, Turtle Peak. Then take cable car at Yuping Station down to the foot of the Huangshan Mountain. After lunch, you are transferred to Tunxi City to explore the ancient streets in Tunxi. Then take the long-distance express bus back to Hangzhou. Met and transferred to your hotel in Hangzhou - Merchant Marco Hotel Hangzhou. Free for rest of the day.
Day 07: Hangzhou
Start your Hangzhou with the boating on the West Lake. There are many lakes named "West Lake" worldwide, but the "West Lake" here in Hangzhou is usually considered the most beautiful among all. Taking one- hour boating on the lake and visit Three Ponds Mirroring the Moon. After the West Lake cruising, continue to visit Leifeng Pagoda. Ascending to the top of the pagoda and looking down, one has a panoramic view of West Lake and the whole city of Hangzhou. Leifeng Pagoda is the most vibible landmark on West Lake. It is a five story tall tower with eight sides, located on Sunset Hill south of the West Lake. Originally built in the year AD 975, it collapsed in 1924 but was reconstructed in 2002. Since when it has become a hot tourist attraction. After local Chinese lunch, you are taken to Longjing Tea Plantation to experience the traditional method of making Longjing (Dragon Well) Tea as well drinking, picking, smelling or buying. Return to your hotel in Hangzhou. ( B L )
Day 08: Hangzhou - Shanghai by later afternoon train
After breakfast, first head to Lingyin Temple. Lingyin Temple is a Buddhist temple of the Chan sect nestled in the Flying Peak north-west of Hangzhou. The temple's name is commonly literally translated as Temple of the Soul's Retreat. It is one of the largest Buddhist temples in China. The Flying Peak features a large number of grottos and religious rock carvings. Then continue to visit the Qinghefang Pedestrian Street. Qinghefang pedestrian street has a total length of 460 meters. It is the best-preserved histotical street in Hangzhou. A great number of time-honored shops with over a hundred year are located here. Then take later afternoon train to Shanghai. Met and transferred to your hotel in Shanghai - Holiday Downtown Hotel. Free for rest of the day. ( B L )
Day 09: Shanghai
First visit Shanghai Museum, the selection of over 112,000 Chinese cultural relics from the Old Stone Age to modern times. Then proceed to visit The Bund, one of the most noted waterfront and architectural symbols of Shanghai. After that, move on to the "Pedestrians only" Nanjing Road, a walking bustling street that is always packed with people waching other people. After lunch, go to Shanghai's new zone - Pudong ( east of Huangpu River) and visit Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower - the world's third tallest TV tower after the 553-meter CN Tower in Toronto and the 535-meter Moscow TV Tower. Finally take one hour cruising on Huang Pu River. ( B L D )
Day 10: Shanghai
After breakfast, visit Yuyuan Garden, a classical Qing Dynasty garden with over 30 pavilions linked by a maze of corridors and bridges over ponds. Just next to Yuyuan Garden is the Old City God's Temple Bazaar from the Song Dyansty. In the evening dinner will be served. Then move on to Jade Buddha Temple - the most famous Buddhist temple in Shanghai. It was built during the Guangxu Period of the Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1875-1909 ) and boasts of priceless collection of jade statutes from Burma. After lunch, to People's Square - the unique and impressive outlook of the city and circled on all sides by huge and overpowering buildings. Then continue to Shanghai Urban Planning Center. The Exhibition Hall is a six story building, with two basement levels, which displays Shanghai's urban planning and development. Move on to the former French Concession, characterized by beautiful, tree-lined streets and weathered European architecture. Finally head to Xi Tian Di - something like Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong and Clarke Quay in Singapore. The brick buildings on these tow-square blocks have been preserved and tranformed into trendy clubs, restaurants and boutiques. After dinner, you will be arranged to enjoy the fantastic Acrobatics show. ( B L D )
