Seven Star Park
Seven Star Park is located to the east of Li-River in the Guilin city, about 1.5km away from the city center.. The park is named after from its seven peaks resemble the pattern of the Big Dipper constellation. With an area of more than 120 hectares, Seven Star Park is the largest and oldest comprehensive park in Guilin. Seven Star Park consists of many famed scenic spots including the Seven-star cave, Longyin Cave, Crescent Stone, Zenggong Stone, Camel Hill, Longyin Stone, Flower Bridge, Crescent Tower, Light of China Square, Children's Amusement Park, Zoo, 3 Generals and 800 Warriors' Tomb, Mosque, Potted Scenery and Gui Hai Stele Forest. Thereinto, the Seven-star Cave, Morning of Camel Hill, Crescent Rainbow Shadow and Putuo Stone Forest are considered as the symbols of the park.
Seven Star Cave is famous for its incredible rock formations, stunning stalactites and stalagmites. The whole seven star cave is divided into three layers. The top layer is the survival fornix and the underlayer is the developing underground river. The middle layer is opened to public. Since Sui and Tang Dynsty, the cave has been a popular attraction for its various, oddly-shapped karst formations.
Camel Hill is shaped like a one humped camel, hence its name. The hill is about 20 meters high and surrounded by blooming flowers and thriving plants. Another must see in Seven Star Park is the Flower Bridge, which is the oldest bridge in Guilin with a history of more 700 years. The bridge is 134.66 meters long and 6.9 meters wide. There is a Wind and Rain Corridor on the bridge, making a convenient shelter for visitors on rainy days.
