We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Mausoleum of General Yue Fei

The Mausoleum of General Yue Fei is one of Hangzhou's most popular attractions esoecially with Chinese touists, perhaps because of the feelings of patriotism among many local people. The Mausoleum of General Yue Fei was nestled in Yue Fei's temple at the south foot of Xixia Mountain of Hangzhou City.

Each day lots of Chinese visitors and even some foriegn tourists flock to the temple and tomb for paying their respect.Yue Fei (1103-1142) was born in Tangyin of Xiangzhou (in today's Henan Province). He was a famous national hero during the Southern Song dynasty (1127-1279). he became noted for his bravery and talent against against northern invaders. He was later betrayed by a court official, Qin Hui and wrongly executed. In 1163 his reputation was recovered and his body dug up and reburied at this Mausoleum.

It is quite an eye-opener visiting here as the local Chinese really hate Qin Hui, and statues of the traitor, his wife and two accomplices kneeling are spat at by the visitors passing by.
Entrance Fee: RMB 25
How to het there: Bus 7, 15, 27, 28
