Fujian Tour
Fujian is a province situated in the southeast coast of China, bordering Zhejiang Province to the north, Jiangxi Province to the west, and Guangdong Province to the south. Taiwan is just located to the east, across the Taiwan Strait.
Fujian boasts rich tourism resources, teeming with the places of historical and cultural interest, and beautiful scenic spots.
Many cultural and historical sites are inherited from the Qin (221-207 BC), Han (206 BC-AD 220), Tang (618-907), Song (960-1279), Yuan (1271-1368) and Ming (1368-1644) dynasties. Among the numerous ancient sites, the most famous is Yongding Tulou, local unique hakka houses (tulou) listed as world cultural heritage in 2008 and still inhabited by local Hakkas.
There are many beautiful mountains in Fujian Province, including Wuyi Mountain, Gushan (Drum Hill) in Fuzhou, Tailao Mountain in east Fujian. Northwest Fujian is noted for danxia and karst landforms, with countless grotesque rocks and fantastic caves.
Fujian also has possesses many beautiful beaches, such as the bathing beach on Gulangyu Islet of Xiamen, the Luanwan Beach on Dongshan Island, the Longwangtou Beach at Pingtan and Meizhou Island at Putian.
Its numerous rivers provides many picturesque water spots, including the Jiuqu (Nine-Bend) Stream in Wuyi Mountain and Jinhu Lake, the largest artificial lake in Fujian. Colorful ethnic customs, unique local cultures and rich products also add attraction to the province's tourism resources.

From the sightseeing and leisure travel point of view, Fujian Province could be divided into three parts - Coastal area (Xianmen, Quanzhou and Fuzhou), Wuyishan Mountain and Fujian Tulou (Yongding and Nanjing). Fujian has a subtropical climate, hot and humind in summer and coldish in winter. There are a lot of rain and some typhoons from June to August. So it is better to visit the coastal area in April, May, September and October. In winter you should wear warmly.
For Wuyishan and Hakka tulou in the northwest and the southwest mountainous areas, they are suitable for sightseeing all year round. But in July and August it is hot and humid. You should wear warmly for winter travel.
In a word, the best time to visit Fujian is spring (April and May) and Autumn (September and October).
Fujian is well linked to the major cities and neighbouring provinces by coastal trains, highways and flights. Fuzhou, Xiamen and Wuyishan have airlines connecting Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou,Hong Kong and other major cities. Fuzhou and Xiamen have flights connecting Taiwan, Japan. Its wide network of highways link its neighbouring provinces - Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Guangdong. Xiamen has an international cruise port and every year it receives numerous cruise ships docking at Xiamen for onshore excursions.
For the interior provincial travel, the D trains and highways are available among the major cities in Fujian. The D trains connect Fuzhzou, Quanzhou, Xiamen and Longyan. The highway network link Wuyishan, Fuzhou, Quanzhou, Xiamen and Longyan. If you feel both the D trains and overland travel are too slow, you use flights connecting Wuyishan, Fuzhou, Xiamen and Longyan.
1. Xiamen: Xiamen is in the southeast of Fujian province. It looks out the Taiwan Strait and borders Quanzhou to the north and Zhangzhou to the south.
2. Gulang Yu Island: Gulangyu Island is located just southwest of Xiamen City. It is renowned for its delicate natural beauty, its ancient relics, and its varied architectures.

8. Longyan: Longyan is well known as the "Home of Hakka People", as Hakka people make up 75% of total population.

Min is the short form of Fujian. Min Cuisine is one of the eight cuisines in China. Min Cuisine is known to be light but flavourful, soft, and tender.
Xiamen: As a port city, Xiamen is well known for its seafood like oysters and shrimps. You can find many places to eat along Zhongshan Road near near the harbour area. Besides the seafood restaurants, you can also find a slew of Sichuan and Taiwan food restaurants. Nanputuo Temple has excellent vegetarian food resturant. Close to Marco Polo Hotel, a bar street called Yundang Road is teeming with bars and cafes frequented by local expats and trendy locals.
Gulangyu Island: Gulang Yu is a wonderful place to try fresh seafood and local eats. You can find a bunch of small seafood restaurants near the ferry terminal and Loutou Road. A plenty of bars and cafes are dotted around the island.
Fuzhou: You can find a slew of fast food and small restaurants near Fuzhou Railway Station. In the city center, the Pedestrian Food Street (Taijiang Road )offers great choices of restautants and food. Recommended retaurant: Juchunyuan Restaurant (聚春园酒店), a time-honored restaurant, 2 Gulou East Road Tel: 0591-87502328.
Quanzhou: Around Kaiyuan Temple, you can find plenty of restaurants providing noodles and rice dishes. The food street is located on the street of Wenling South Road lined with numerous restautants. Recommended reataurants: Shuyou Seafood Restaurant (舒友海鲜酒店), on the second floor of Dongfang Grand Hotel and Yuelai Reataurant, 81 Jiuyi Street (九一街).
Wuyi Shan: You are suggested to dine at the old Wuyi Town near Yeo Hwa Hotel. Several lanes are lined with small restaurants providing the local flavors, noodles, rice dishes.
Xiamen: In daytime, Zhongshan Road is the great place to shop. The road is filled with brands as well as department stores and markets. When night falls, you can go shopping at the Night Market on Ding'an Road between Zhongshan Road and Zhenhai Road. Local products: tea, dry seafood, dry fruits.
Fuzhou: The local products in Fuzhou include Fuzhou lacquer, Oolong Tea, Shoushan Stones. Fuzhou lacquer has a history of over 200 years, dubbed as one of the three treasues in China including cloisonne in Beijing and Jingde porcelain in Jiangxi.
Quanzhou: If you visit Quanzhou, you are not far from the famous clothes city of Shishi (石狮). Many buses run between Quanzhou and Shishi. Quanzhou is world famous for its puppetry. Puppet sculptures are quite popular. Now there are over 300 kinds of puppet face masks on the market.
Gulangyu Island: Near the Ferry Terminal and the town in the island, you can find a great number of stalls selling local souvenirs made from sea shells and other local products. Haggle!
Yongding Tulou or Najing Tulou: Vendors sell local products like hand made cigarettes and local hand-crafts.
Wuyi Shan: It is a great place to buy rock tea and Oolong Tea.
Xiamen: Close to Marco Polo Hotel, a bar street called Yundang Road is teeming with bars and cafes frequented by local expats and trendy locals. Also Binglang Road (槟榔路) is clustered with bars and cafes. Take a night stroll along the river bank is a leisure and romantic escape.
Gulangyu Island: A host of bars and cafes are dotted around the island.
Fuzhou: Fuzhou is also a city of hot-spring. The hot spring area takes up one seventh of the city with 5 square km. You may take hot spring bath on the Wenquan Road (Hot Spring Road) after nightfall.
