I have just returned home from my week in Beijing and want to thank you, Paul Song and your wonderful team for looking after me so well doing my stay in Beijing. It was an awesome stay and I managed to do all the things I wanted to do and that included the long walk on the Great Wall, which although a challenge was with the help of your guides great. I managed the 4.5 hours and enjoyed almost every minute, sure a cable car and the walk off the wall through the country side did help, but the whole day with perfect weather and a great team will remain one of my most treasured memories.
I will certainly be recommending you to my friends and will write a bit about the trip on several websites.

This hiking tour program includes the 4-5 hour's hike from the east section of the Jinshanling Great Wall to the west section of the Simatai Great Wall for about 12 km ( 30 watchtowers ). Pick up from your hotel in Beijing around 8:00am and get to the Jinshanling Great Wall around 10:30 am. The hike from Jinshanling Great Wall to the west section of Simatai Great wall takes about 4 hours.
There is a cableway up to the Jinshanling Great Wall. If you take a cable car up, you will skip over 5 watch towers. We suggest you choose to climb up the mountain, so you can trek across 30 towers and 2 passes. The fact is that it is quite easy to walk up to the Great Wall.
The two section of the Great Wall are wild, ruined, preserved and original. Get down the hill at the foot of the Simatai Great Wall at about 2:30pm. Enjoy a late afternoon local lunch. After lunch, transfer back to your hotel in Beijing.

vendors make a living by selling bottled water, postcards, tourist books, T-shirts and souvenirs at higher prices. You are not obligated to buy from them but it can be hard
to make them go away. If you don't want to buy anything, tipping is expected.
