Fuyun Travel Guide
Location: It is lies in the north of Xinjiang and at the south foot of the middle range of Altai Mountain.
Population: approximately with a population of 82,900
Area: a total area of 33,700 sq km
Nationalities: Han, Kazakstan, Uyghur, etc.
History: In Han dynasty, it belonged to Xunnu, in Sui-Tang dynasty belonged to West Tujue and in Yuan was the feod of Mongolian kings. In 1941, the city was named “Fuyun”, with the mean of “abundant precious deposits underground”.
Climate: With the weather of climate arid, it is windy and rainless. The annual average temperature is 1.8℃. There is much difference in temperature in summer and winter. The best tour time to Fuyun is summer, autumn and winter.
Local Specialties: Snow Lotus, Hetian Jade, grape, almond, cherry-tomato
Local Food: rice eaten with hands, roasted whole sheep, fried noodles
