We had an absolutely perfect day with our tour guide - Rogin Luo - who took us for a hike along The Great Wall! Didn't know what to expect and were thrilled to have him as our guide. Very imformative, knowledgable and fun! We go to experience a part of The Great Wall that was unrestored and see all its natural beauty. Got a long history lesson along the way!

After the hike, we all went to lunch at a small place at the bottom of the hill. Located in a house, we ate lunch in the proprietors bedroom! What a hoot! Rogin is the Best of the Best! This tour company delivered for us and we are extremely grateful.

Chengdu Transportation
Airline
Chengdu Shuangliu Airport is the forth-largest airport in China, about 16kms from Chengdu city center. There are more than 60 scheduled flights to the major cities in China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Qingdao, Nanjing, Hanzhou, Zhangjiajie, Xian, Lanzhou, Guilin, Urumqi, Chengdu, Haikou, Kunming. The international and interregional flights include those to Hong Kong and Bangkok.

Railway
Chengdu is the largest transport hub in southwestern China. There are trains running between Chengdu and the major cities of China, such as Beijing, Xian, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Urumqi, Shangai, Lanzhou and so on.

Highway
Chengdu is also the largest hub of highway transport in southwestern China, near to the bridge of New South Gate of Chengdu. Six national highways join in Chengdu including national highway 108, national highway 213, national highway 319, etc.

Taxi
Taxis are everywhere and metered. Generally most taxis charge a base fee of RMB5 during the day and RMB6 at night, with RMB1 for each additional 1.3km.

Bicycle
Because Chengdu is flat, most locals get around by bicycle. Riding is easy, fast, and convenient. Bicycles can be rented at most Hotels (RMB10 per day plus RMB400 deposit).

Tips: The starting price of Taxi is 5 Yuan (for the first 1kms) and it is then 1.4 Yuan for every additional km. A 50% return charge is required when the distance exceeds 7kms. The price of Pedicab is similar to that of Taxi, sometimes even more expensive. Generally the starting price is 5 Yuan.
