Day By Day Itinerary
Day 01
Hike from Jinshanling Great Wall and Camping on Gubeikou Great Wall
Pick up from your hotel in Beijing around 10:30am. and head to Jinshaling Great Wall. The 150-km drive takes about 2 and half hours. Arriving at Jinshanling Great Wall, you will be arranged to have Chinese lunch. After lunch, hike up on the west section of Jinshanling Great Wall. This hiking tour takes about 3-4 hour for about 5 km ( 15 watchtowers ). This section of the Great Wall is wild, ruined, preserved, original and somewhere half restored with great photogenic opportunities. We have to get off the wall at Kylin Tower, and cannot hike to Simatai Great Wall direction due to the temporary closure of Simatai Great Wall.

At the end of the hike on Jinshanling Great Wall, continue to drive to Gubeikou Village where you will have Chinese dinner at a local villager's farmhouse. After dinner and it is getting dark, then walk up on to one of the towers on the wall for overnight camping in a tent. We offer tents, mats, sleeping bags and fashlights. No electricity and no plumbing. Take all your necessities on to the wall for next morning's hike since we start to walk on Gubeikou Great Wall directly from where you are camping.

Day 02
Morning Hike on Gubeikou Great Wall and Back to Your Hotel in Beijing
Wake up to catch the sunrise ( if fine weather ). Cooking is forbidden on the wall. You will have simple western breakfast prepared by us ( bread,egg...). After simple breakfast, have a 1-2 hour hike on the unrestored Gubeikou Great Wall.

The main part of the Gubeikou Wall was first built in the Ming Dynasty 1368, and composed of two main sections - Panlongshan Great Wall (The Coiled Dragon Mountain Great Wall) and Wohushan Great Wall(The Crouching Tiger Mountain Great Wall). You are arranged to hike Panlongshan Great Wall, nicknamed after the name of the mountain on which it lies - Panlongshan Mountain. Panlongshan Great Wall is mostly unrestored, oroginal, less tourist and one of the most beautuful sections of the Wall around Beijing.

Return to your hotel in Beijing around 12:00am.

2. Don't forget to bring a mobile phone, water, hiking boots, sunscreen, sun-glasses, insect repellent, cap and some snacks etc.
3. Stay ovenight on the wall with no toilets, no electricity and no plumbing (flashing lights will be provided)
4. Noise, vandalism, graffiti and litter are not allowed on the wall
5. If any possibility of thunder, lightening or heavy rain ( possible in July and August - Rainy Season in Beijing ), the camping is cancelled and campers are re-arranged to stay in a local hotel at the base of Gubeikou Great Wall.
6. The Wall is a particularly delicate area, some training on camping etiquette on the part of the campers is needed.
7. Please bring your passport since we are out of Beijing and travel to Hebei Province.
8. Winter season will be cold on the wall, so alternatively, you can stay in a local at the foot of the mountain.
9. Please make sure you are healthy and fit for camping on the wall.
10. You are highly advised to purchase your personal accident insurance from your native country before you leave for China.
