  1. SY says:

Hi, I’ll touch down at Tianjin Airport at 10pm and plan to take a taxi to hotel at downtown. Will the taxi driver use the meter and the rate remains the same as day time or there will be different rate at night? Thanks.

  2. Daniel says:

    Dear Sy,

Basically they should use the meters and you can request them to use if you find they don’t use. No extra charge for night drive.

Just be calm and show your taxi drive the place you want to go. Enjoy your trip!

  3. CM says:

Hi, I will be landing around 10pm. Is it safe to take a taxi to Renaissance Lakeview? Thanks a lot!

  4. Daniel says:

    Dear CM,

    Sorry for my delayed reply!

Basically it is safe to take a taxi in Tianjin. Enjoy your trip!

  5. Pat says:

We would like to know how much a taxi would cost from Tianjin cruise port to Tianjin cultural street. We would also need to retun late afternoon

  6. Daniel says:

    Dear Pat,

The distance between Tianjin Cruise Port and Cultural Street is about 70km. One way taxi ride is approxi 200 yuan including toll fees. The taxi rate is only for your reference. Very often you need to negotiate with your cab driver. Have a nice time in Tianjin!

  7. Jimmy says:

What happens if I get stuck in a traffic jam (due to an accident ) in a taxi ? Would I still get charge for the time spend until the road gets clear ? What’s the policy for that kind of circumstances ? Is the taxi driver require to turn off the meter ? Or does the costumer gets charge even if it takes an hour or so for traffic to move ?

  8. Daniel says:

    Thanks for your inquiry!

Basically a taxi meter is calculated both by the distance you travel and the waiting time you are stuck in traffic jam. But as for a car accident, things will go case by case. Have a nice in China!
