Camel Trek in Tengger Desert
We offer 1-3 day camel trek out to the Tengger Desert from and back to Zhongwei in Ningxia. We are going to tailor-make your trip per your specific travel request. Submit online and one of our trip advisors will contact for the details.
One Day Desert Travel by Camel
Day 1:9:00am - 9:30am starting from Zhongwei to Machang Lake by car. One the way, visit an ancient section of the Great Wall. Then start to camel ride through the Tengger desert and enjoy the beautiful scenery. There you can enjoy your lunch. You will come back to Zhongweiabout 4:00pm by car.
Two Day Desert Travel by Camel
Day 1: 9:00am - 9:30am starting from Zhongwei to Machang Lake by car. On the way, visit an ancient section of the Great Wall. Then start to have camel ride in desert and continue desert exploration into the Tengger Desert, viewing the Tengger Desert plants and rolling sand dunes. At 12:00-14:00 noon, have lunch in the desert. Watching the sunset. Camping on the desert.(including lunch and dinner).
Day 2: Watching sunrise. After breakfast, around 9:30am, continue to camel through the desert to the desert road. Then you are transferred by car back to the Zhongwei city at 11:00am, and the end of a pleasant trip to the desert! (Including breakfast).
Three Day Desert Travel by Camel
Day 1: 9:00am - 9:30am starting from Zhongwei to Machang Lake by car. On the way, then visit an ancient section of the Great Wall. Start to camel ride in desert and continue desert exploration, viewing the Tengger Desert plants. At 12:00-14:00 noon to eat lunch in the desert. Camping on the desert and feeling the mood of the long river sunset. (Including lunch and dinner)
Day 2: See sunrise. After breakfast, at 9:30am, continue to camel ride into deep desert such as Sleeping Beauty-like rolling sand dunes and watch the desert oasis. If you are lucky enough to see blue sheep, a fox. Campfire night to participate in the desert. Camping on the desert. (Including lunch and dinner).
Day 3: See sunrise in desert. The camel ride to desert road. Then go back to zhongwei by car at 11:00am. (Breakfast included)

Service standards:

Breakfast: Bread, coffee or tea and noodles.
Lunch: Chinese pancake, ham, Coke or Sprite, fruit (bananas, apples or pears).

Remarks:
1. Everyday we ride on camel in desert about four and half hours totally.
2. Don't leave the camp alone at night to avoid being lost.
3. Desert climate is changeable with the sharp temperature difference between moring and evening. In case of dust storm, please take sunglasses, bring warm clothing.
4. In summer, high temperatures during the day desert,drinking plenty of water to prevent heat stroke.
Safety Notice:
1. A camel is very friendly, but don't touch its back and hind legs.
2. You should grip tightly the packsaddle and hump when riding your camel to prevent yourself falling from your camel and droped to the ground suddenly.
3. Don't approach the hind legs or the head of your camel, and in case it will kick and hurt you.
4. The camel is basically docile, but when frightened it can be dangerous. So we must avoid the sudden high voice and any bright color(eg, open the bright-colored umbrella )
5. When riding the camel for a long time, don't be too rigid and tight. You should sit on your camel naturally and adjust your sitting position when necessary. If necessary, walk some minutes with the camel.
