Best Time to See Plum Blossoms in Beijing

The plum blossom, known as the “meihua” (梅花) in Chinese, is on the top of the top 10 list of the most beautiful flowers in China. It is also one of the most favorite flowers in China and has been frequently mentioned and depicted in Chinese art and poetry for centuries. The plum blossom symbolizes hope, beauty, purity and perseverance.

The best time to see the plum blossoms in Beijing ranges from mid-March through mid-April, the later winter season and early spring time.

There are quite a few places to view the plum blossoms in Beijing, such as:  Ming Dynasty Wall Relics Park, Jiufeng National Forest Park, Xishan National Forest Park, Beijing Zhongshan Park, Beijing Botanical Garden, Beijing Fragrant Hill Park, Summer Palace, Zizhuyuan Park, Longtang Park, etc.
