Tour Description
Ascending the three sections of the Great Wall around Beijing in one day is a good experience on your trip to Beijing.Our tour guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00am. Get to Badaling Great Wall around 9:30am. Badaling is known for its imposing magnitude. The wall here averages 7.8 meters in height and has a width of 5.7 meters at the top and 6.5 meters at the base. The walkway on top is 4.5 meters wide, making it possible for five horses or ten soldiers to march abreast. It is one of the most gorgeous and magnificent part of the Great Wall in Beijing. Hike the Badaling Great Wall for 2 hours.

Then drive back to Juyongguan Great Wall. Juyongguan Great Wall is site of an ancient military town which is replete with military installations, watch towers, official residences, temples and other structures. The present Pass was initially built in the Ming Dynasty and received much renovation later. It is a very important strategic place connecting the inner land and the area near the northern border of China. Climbing the Juyongguan Great Wall for 1 and half hours.

After lunch, continue to drive to Mutianyu Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall is known for its beautiful surroundings - dense woods and rich pastures changing colors with the seasons of the year. Two unique features of this section are the double battlements and branch walls found throughout the area. Hike the Mutianyu Great Wall for 1 and half hours.

After hiking the three sections of the Wall, transferred back to your midtown hotel in Beijing.
Great Wall Hiking Tips
1. Things to take: sports shoes or hiking boots, sticks, cap, sun-glasses, sunscreen, bottles of water, snacks, pocket knife, lip balm and first aid kit.2. Using toilets at the entrance of the Wall. No toilets on the hiking route. Please always carry toilet paper by yourself.
3. You will return to your hotel around 6:00pm depending on the traffic and don't arrange any activity in the evening.
4. We have two bottles of water for each person.
5. If you need trekking sticks, please let us know in advance.
6. Wearing pants and long-sleeves even in summer to hike through jungles and bushes.
7. You are responsible for your travel insurance for your coverage of injury or accident.
8. Be a green and responsible hiker, taking nothing but photos and leaving nothing but footprint.
9. Travelers with chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, hypertension, chronic tracheitis, asthma, chronic nephritis, or arthritis, are not recommended to take this tour.

Special Note:
1. Badaling Great Wall
The Badaling Great Wall is the well preserved Ming Dynasty Great Wall with original appearance. Now it is divided into two sections - east and west starting at the Badaling Pass and Gate. Most people prefer to climb the east section where the highest watch tower is located.
Some tourists don't choose the Badaling Great Wall. They think Badaling Great Wall is too touristy! "Touristy" is now a bad word for any tour destination. But why is it too touristy? It is "too touristy" because Badaling Great Wall is one of the most gorgeous of all the sections of the Great Wall around Beijing.
Given your limited travel time on Badaling Great Wall, you may take a cable car up the Wall and walk down. Cable car is available and optional ( pay on your own).

2. Juyongguan Pass Great Wall
The Juyongguan Pass Great Wall is sectioned into two semicircles - east and west. Most people prefer hiking on its west semicircle for its steepness and beautiful view. Each semicircle takes about 2-hour hike

3. Mutianyu Great Wall
Mutianyu Great Wall has an extremely beautiful natural landscape once you are up on the wall, green, densely wooded. This section of the Great Wall is comparatively smoother than most of other sections.
There are 23 towers on the Mutianyu Great Wall snaking the ridge for about 3000 meters. The watch towers at the Mutianyu Great Wall are distributed at short intervals. The 23 watch towers are numbered from right to left ( from east to west). The 23rd tower is highest point of the Mutianyu Great Wall.
You have three ways of going up and down the Mutianyu Great Wall:
1) Walking up the Great Wall along the stone steps - to the 10th Watch Tower
2) Taking a cable car up or down the Great Wall - to the 14th Watch Tower
3) Taking a chairlift up or down the Great Wall - to the 6th Watch Tower
4) Taking a toboggan down the Wall from the 6th Tower is an exciting experience.
