History: Yingtan had been transferred into a key base of porcelain making in China from 16 century B.C. to 11 century B.C.. In 1935, the administrative regions were reduced to 8 regions, whereas it was increased to 11 regions in 1939 and 9 regions in 1942. In 1979, according to the designation of the State Council, Yingtan was transferred into a city and was promoted as a Prefecture-level city, in possession of the jurisdiction over Yuehu Region, Guixi County and Yujiang County.
Yingtan is embraced by the famous 5 mountains, including Mount Longhu, Peak Gui, Mount Sanqing, Mount Wuyi and Mount Wufu, in which enormous hot spots are available for travelling: Mount Longhu, Taoist Ritual Temple, Xiangshan Forestry Park, Xiuzhu Village, Lake Baihe, Guigu Hole and Peak Xianglu are among the natural scenerys with great fame. Besides, Cultural Landscapes including Xiangshan Academy, Site of Red Base, “Four Ancient County” as well as a huge group of architectures of Ming and Qing Dynasty are also among the most appealing spots.
Climate: With an annual mean temperature of 18℃(64.4℉) and 76% of relative humidity, Yingtan is dominated by typical humid and subtropical weather, with prevailing monsoon feature. The weather is characterized by a distinctive 4 seasons, with ample precipitation and sunshine as well as a moderate temperature. Besides, the spring is featured by a cycling of cold and warm weather, the summer hot, whereas in autumn and winter the weather here is sunny and fresh. The place is suitable for the growth and thriving of local subtropical animals and plants.
Transportation: Railways- There are four rail lines connected the city with outer world, namely Line Zhejiang-Jiangxi, Fujian-Jiangxi, Line Yingtan-Xiamen, Line Shanghai-Kunming (under construction), that running across the city, and contributed to the most significant transportation hub in China.
Highways- No.206 National Highway, No.320 and G60 Shanghai-Kunming, G35 Jinan-Guangzhou are intersected here which welcome and send off guests from all directions.

Attractions: Mount Longhu(龙虎山),Located in the southeast region 20 kilometers away from the city of Yingtan, Jiangxi Province, Mount Longhu(literally Dragon Tiger Mountain) is famous for being the cradle of Zhengyi Dao, a branch of Chinese Daoism. It is said that Zhangling, the founder of Zhengyi Dao, once conducted immortal pills here in the middle of the Han Dynasty, whereas the mountain was designated as “Mount Longhu”owing to its shape which resembled dragon and tiger.
Mount Longhu includes a Danxia landform which is close to aging period, in which dispersed blocks are distributed into the shape of “peak forest”. Besides, the elevation difference of the landform is relatively low, which contributes to the elegant image of the overall spot.
