History: Xingtai was named Xindu, Julu, Xiangguo, Xingzhou, etc. Its history could be traced back to 3,500 years ago. It once was the capital of Shang Dynasty, Xing Kingdom, Zhao Kingdom and so on. During the Zhou Dynasty, the State of Xing – from which the present name derives – was founded in the city.
Climate: With a typical semi-arid continental monsoon climate, Xingtai has four distinctive seasons. It is very hot and rainy in the summer due to the East Asian monsoon, and generally cold, windy, and dry in winter with the influence of the vast Siberian anticyclone. The city has an annual mean rainfall of 493mm. more than half of which falls in July and August alone.
Transportation: Beijing-Guangzhou Railway, Beijing-Kowloon Railway, as well as the Beijing-Shenzhen Highway, Qingdao-Yinchuan Highway, and Xingtai-Linqing Expressway run through the city, which make Xingtai is a transport hub connecting the Eastern, Northern and Central China.

Attractions: Yunmeng Mountain- Yunmeng Mountain (云梦山), 66 kilometers to the west of Xingtai city, is the dividing line between Hebei Province and Shanxi Province. Its main peak is more than 1,300 meters high. You may feel as if you were in a big teapot when entering the scenic spot There are steep cliffs all around, barren cliffs with green trees on their tops, and a round sky above. Hence, it is called 'a kettle-shaped fairyland'.
Qinwang Lake- Qinwang Lake (秦王湖) is the western mountain area of Xingtai. There are many relics about the history of Qinwang, Li Shimin around the lake, so it is named Qinwang Lake. The “three gorges, four valleys and fifty spots” are typical of the beauty around the lake.
