History: Weinan is one of cradles of Chinese culture. As early as 200,000 years ago, Daliren once lived this place. it was an important military stronghold in history. It was built as a capital by 12 dynasties. Weinan is also the birthplace of many famous figures in history such as Cangjie, the legendary inventor of Chinese characters, Dukang, the legendary inventor of a type of liquor, Sima Qian, the great historian, and Emperor Suiwen.

Transportation: Railway- As the east gate to enter into Guanzhong area, Weinan is the junction of many railways. You can to the other cities from Weinan Station.

Highway-Weinan has four coach stations including Weinan Station, Weiqian Passenger Station, Weinan Coach Station, and Weinan Coach Statoin (east gate). Buses to Yanan, Xian, Yuncheng, Houma, Tongguan etc are available.

Local Specialties: Weinan Meila Porcelain series dishware and paper-cuttings are excellent souvenirs for tourists from both home and abroad.

Attractions: During its long history, there are 58 key cultural landmarks under state- and provincial-level protection. They include Xiyue Temple, Tang Emperor Mausoleum, and Sima Qian Tomb. There are also other natural scenery spots such as Mount Huashang, Longmen Tourism Area, and Qiaochuan Scenery Area.

Mt.Hua- As one of the five sacred mountains of China, Mt, Hua (华山) is about 120km east of Xian. Mt. Hua, with an altitude of 2154.6 meters, is famous for its steep, picturesque cliffs and dangerous increase its fame to the summit. It is linked by mountain paths, offering a unique hiking opportunity.
